Anthony Chan, DO is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Newtown Gastroenterology. You can find him at our three New York City area locations: Chinatown in Manhattan; Flushing in Queens; Sunset Park in Brooklyn.
Dr. Chan integrates his deep expertise in gastrointestinal specialty with a holistic and empathetic approach to patient care. A long-time resident of the New York City area, Dr. Chan is an Asian immigrant attuned to the potential barriers that patients may face in these diverse communities thus practices patience and care in his communication.
Dr. Chan launched his private practice in 1999 after completing rigorous educational and medical training at a variety of institutions: BA, New York University; DO, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; Residency at Maimonides Medical Center; Fellowships at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Clinic.
Additionally, Dr. Chan is affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is an active member of several professional organizations including American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; American Gastroenterological Association, and the Chinese American Medical Society. Dr. Chan has successfully completed over 50,000 endoscopic procedures to date.
